[First Two Batches of Confiscated Assets in Singapore's $3 Billion Money Laundering Case Open for Auction, Suspects Involved in Crypto Money Laundering]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that the first two batches of confiscated assets in Singapore's $3 billion money laundering case have officially been put up for auction. The total estimated value is between $2.9 million and $3.9 million. The auction is conducted exclusively online, and bidders cannot place bids in person or via phone. Currently, the confiscated items are stored at the Le Freeport storage facility in Changi North Crescent. Interested members of the public from Singapore and overseas can visit the facility to view the items, but appointments must be made in advance, and slots are limited. Among the items attracting the most attention are limited-edition pumpkin bags by Louis Vuitton and Yayoi Kusama. (Lianhe Zaobao)
It is reported that this case is one of the largest money laundering cases in Singapore in recent years. One of the suspects, Wang Shuiming's associate Su Weiyi, was confirmed to be the mastermind behind the crypto platform scam Atom Asset Exchange. Another suspect, Su Baolin, allegedly received proceeds from illegal overseas online gambling via USDT and, in 2023, converted part of the USDT into at least SGD 463,000 in cash. He also reportedly used USDT to purchase a Toyota Alphard.
