Danish central bank warns of indirect financial risks brought by global expansion of US dollar stablecoin
Odaily Planet Daily News: Danmarks Nationalbank, the Danish central bank, stated that the usage rate of stablecoins in Denmark is currently low and does not pose an immediate threat to domestic financial stability. However, the rapid growth of stablecoins pegged to the US dollar globally may expose Denmark to indirect financial market volatility and liquidity risks. At present, there is no stablecoin denominated in Danish krone in circulation in Denmark, and the use of stablecoins by consumers and businesses is relatively limited. As commercial banks, financial institutions, and payment applications integrate into the stablecoin infrastructure, the scale of related usage may change. USDT and USDC dominate the global stablecoin market, and volatility in overseas stablecoin markets may be transmitted to Denmark through global liquidity channels and the US financial system. Danmarks Nationalbank is collaborating with the European Central Bank (ECB) to ensure that central bank currency remains the primary settlement asset for interbank transactions. ((Bitcoin.com) News)
