Cardano ecosystem project Empowa revealed two interconnected unauthorized asset transfer incidents involving three of its project wallets. Between November 2025 and June 2026, approximately 143,710 ADA was transferred out of a project treasury wallet in 18 transactions. The Midnight airdrop associated with this wallet was also registered and claimed by an unknown individual using the private key, with around 36,000 NIGHT already moved. From June to August 2026, another two project wallets saw a total of approximately 4.24 million EMP transferred out, some of which were sold via platforms like Minswap and VyFi. Empowa stated that the funds from both incidents ultimately flowed into the same intermediary wallet, leading to the conclusion that they were controlled by the same party. However, the identity of the individual(s) operating these private keys remains unknown.
