[OpenAI CEO Open to Slowing Down Frontier AI Development]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on September 11, according to foreign media, OpenAI is considering slowing down the development of cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI), with its CEO Altman hoping other AI companies will follow suit. According to several anonymous insiders, Altman told employees during a company-wide meeting this week that OpenAI might adjust the pace of its AI development—potentially coordinating with several other AI labs, although some labs may not agree to do so. In recent weeks, employees at leading AI companies have publicly expressed concerns about the increasing risks of advanced AI systems, intensifying internal anxiety within these companies. OpenAI and its competitor Anthropic both submitted confidential IPO filings earlier this year. (Jin10)
