[AI Chip Startup Positron Raises $875 Million at a $5 Billion Valuation] According to Deep Tide TechFlow on September 10, citing a report from The Wall Street Journal, AI chip startup Positron, which focuses on designing hardware to help AI models run faster, announced that it has raised $875 million at a $5 billion valuation, marking a significant increase in the company's value over the past six months. This round of funding was co-led by venture capital firms NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, analyst Dylan Patel's SemiAnalysis Capital, and Netscape co-founder Jim Clark. In its most recent funding round in February this year, Positron raised $230 million at a $1 billion valuation. Positron stated that it has delivered approximately 50 units of its previous-generation server rack, Atlas, to Oracle, with other customers including financial firm Jump Trading and AI company Parasail. Positron is striving to gain an edge in the crowded chip industry by accelerating the market launch of its chips.
