[Visa Stablecoin Settlement Volume Surpasses $20 Billion Annualized Level, Over 160 Related Card Programs Launched]
Odaily Planet Daily reports that the stablecoin settlement volume of payment technology company Visa has exceeded an annualized level of $20 billion, growing more than 15 times compared to a year ago. Globally, over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs have been launched, with related payment volumes increasing nearly 200% year-on-year. Stablecoin card programs require daily settlement before cardholders repay, with some programs needing only a few million dollars per transaction, and settlements occurring seven days a week.
Visa stated that some cryptocurrency-linked card businesses are constrained by the working capital required to support continuous settlement cycles. On-chain credit can reduce financing costs by up to 30%. Credit Coop, in collaboration with Visa, has launched a revolving credit tool denominated in stablecoins, executing over 9,000 repayments on-chain. The platform has accumulated a financing scale exceeding $2.5 billion, processing over 3,000 loans and 9,000 repayments, with no defaults reported. Visa Principal Member Rain has been using this tool for daily settlement financing since August 2023. (Bitcoin.com News)
