[Circle Acquires Cross-Border Payment Company Tazapay for $400 Million in an All-Stock Deal] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on September 10, stablecoin issuer Circle announced the acquisition of Singapore-based cross-border payment infrastructure company Tazapay in a $400 million all-stock transaction. According to the 8-K filing submitted by Circle to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the two parties signed the acquisition agreement on September 4. The transaction consideration will be paid in Circle Class A shares and will be adjusted based on Tazapay's debt, transaction costs, and cash position. Circle stated that Tazapay brings over $25 billion in annualized payment volume (as of July 31, 2026), more than 60 banking and fintech partners, and local payment channels covering over 100 markets. As of July 31, over 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume was already running on stablecoins. Tazapay has been a design partner for Circle's payment network since 2025, and this acquisition will transform this partnership into a wholly-owned business of Circle. The transaction is expected to be completed in 2027, pending regulatory approvals, including from the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Circle emphasized that Tazapay's customer services, APIs, pricing, and support will not be affected.
