[Bitcoin Lightning Wallet Alby Confirms Critical Vulnerability in Older Hub Versions, Urges Immediate Upgrade to v1.24.0] Bitcoin Lightning Network wallet service Alby announced on the X platform that it has confirmed a critical vulnerability in Alby Hub versions v1.7.0 to v1.18.5 (released before August 2025). When the Hub management API is accessible from the public internet, attackers can exploit this to gain unauthorized access and transfer funds. Currently, one user has been confirmed to be affected. Versions v1.19.0 (released on August 29, 2025) and later are not impacted. Alby recommends affected users immediately upgrade to the latest v1.24.0 version, restrict public internet access to the management interface, and update their unlock passwords. Additionally, all users are advised to avoid exposing the Hub to the public internet and instead operate it within a private network using the NWC protocol.
