[Korea Exchange to Launch After-Hours Stock Trading on September 14, Covering Over 2,600 Stocks from KOSPI and KOSDAQ]
BlockBeats News, September 9: The Korea Exchange will introduce after-hours stock trading starting September 14, with trading hours from 16:00 to 20:00 on each trading day. This will cover the vast majority of listed stocks in the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets, with up to 2,651 stocks available for trading.
The after-hours trading will implement a market maker system to provide quotes and liquidity support for stocks with insufficient liquidity. This marks the first time a market maker system is being introduced in Korea's after-hours stock market.
To enhance investor protection, market orders will be prohibited during after-hours trading, and only order types such as limit orders, best limit orders, and best market price limit orders will be allowed. Additionally, stocks under investment warning, investment risk, management categories, suspension, or those not traded on the main market on the same day will be excluded from after-hours trading.
Currently, the alternative trading platform NXT in Korea offers trading for approximately 800 stocks. With the launch of after-hours trading by the Korea Exchange, the range of stocks available for investors to trade will significantly expand. [Original Link]
