[Korea Exchange to Launch After-Hours Stock Trading on September 14, Covering Over 2,600 Stocks on KOSPI and KOSDAQ] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on September 9, the Korea Exchange announced that it will launch an after-hours market for the KOSPI and KOSDAQ markets starting September 14. The trading hours will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The after-hours trading will cover all listed stocks on both markets, approximately 2,651 stocks, excluding those under investment warnings, investment risks, abnormal surges, management categories, suspensions, 30-minute unit trading, and stocks that were not traded during the regular trading session on the same day. The Korea Exchange will also introduce a market maker system in the after-hours market for the first time to improve liquidity and price discovery. Additionally, market orders will be restricted, and only certain order types, such as limit orders and best limit orders, will be allowed to enhance volatility management and investor protection.
