[Circle to Acquire Singapore-Based Cross-Border Payment Platform Tazapay, Expanding Global Payment Infrastructure]
According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on September 8, Circle Internet Group announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Tazapay, a Singapore-based B2B cross-border payment infrastructure company. The transaction is expected to be completed by 2027, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, including approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
Circle stated that Tazapay will bring over $25 billion in annualized payment volume, more than 60 banking and fintech partners, and local payment channels covering over 100 markets. Approximately 60% of Tazapay's transaction volume already involves stablecoins.
Circle noted that this acquisition will enhance its global payment and collection capabilities and promote the use of USDC in cross-border commercial payments. The services, APIs, pricing, and support for Tazapay's existing customers are expected to remain unaffected.
