Robinhood Chain's mainnet load yesterday finally eased up, dropping from 42 million gas/s to 36 million gas/s. Even Base, with its highly mature L2 technology, has a gas target of around 33 million gas/s and still struggles to handle it. Sustained high loads like this on any Ethereum L2 chain could make sky-high gas fees almost unavoidable. Unless—and I mean *unless*—the L2 project teams decide not to profit from these congestion fees.
