[Iran's Proposal for Hormuz Strait Fees Quietly Rejected by Oman] Odaily Planet Daily News - Oman has quietly rejected Iran's proposal to charge commercial vessels a service fee for passing through the Hormuz Strait. According to informed regional officials, Oman refused to agree to the collection of environmental and security service fees, even on a voluntary basis. Claims by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard that an agreement had been reached between the two sides were not accurate. Previously, after talks in Tehran between Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi and Omani Foreign Minister Busaidi, Iranian Revolutionary Guard spokesperson Hossein stated that the two countries had reached an agreement on the demarcation of the Hormuz Strait waters and revenue distribution.
