As the U.S. primaries near their end, the crypto industry super PAC Fairshake and its affiliated organizations have backed around 50 candidates who have won their primaries and are now shifting focus to the November elections. This week, Fairshake-supported Massachusetts Democratic Congressman Jake Auchincloss successfully won his primary; previously, Republican Senate candidates Barry Moore, Andy Barr, Kevin Hern, and Harriet Hageman, also backed by Fairshake, secured their party nominations. Fairshake and its affiliates are primarily funded by Coinbase, Ripple, and a16z, and currently hold approximately $122 million in funds for the fall elections. Their biggest setback was spending over $10 million in an unsuccessful attempt to prevent Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton from winning the Democratic Senate primary. If the House shifts to Democratic control after the general election, several pro-crypto Democratic candidates previously supported by Fairshake could influence future crypto legislation.
