[US-Iran Conflict Fuels Inflation Concerns, UK Government Bond Yields Hit Multi-Year Highs]
Reported by Jinse Finance, on September 1, as the war between the United States and Iran continues, inflation concerns have intensified, pushing UK government bond yields to multi-year highs. Efforts to resume shipping in the Strait of Hormuz have yet to succeed, raising market fears that oil supply disruptions could persist longer and drive up energy costs. Federal Reserve Chair Walsh also warned of inflation risks last Friday. The yield on the UK 10-year government bond rose to 5.224%, the highest level since 2008. The 30-year government bond yield climbed to 5.871%, the highest level since 1998. (Jin10)
