Protocol Watch founder Christine D. Kim wrote that Bitcoin Core v32 completed its feature freeze on August 20, and developers are now focused solely on bug fixes and optimizations. The three main features of version v32 include: parallel block validation (PR 35295), which increases validation speed threefold by utilizing multi-core CPUs; global transaction rate limiting (PR 34628), introducing a new global queue to enhance node stability during transaction surges and prevent overload on low-performance nodes; and mempool-based dynamic fee estimation (PR 34075), which incorporates real-time mempool data to avoid overestimating fees during high congestion. Bitcoin Core v32 is expected to be officially released in October. This upgrade does not introduce any network-wide protocol changes but provides significant performance optimizations for node operators.
