According to Wu Blockchain, Chainalysis is protesting the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) awarding an exclusive contract worth approximately $95 million to TRM Labs. The contract is for cryptocurrency tracking by a special task force under the Department of Homeland Security, marking the largest blockchain analysis deal for the U.S. government to date. Chainalysis alleges that ICE did not conduct an open competition, that the procurement requirements closely align with TRM’s proprietary products, and that other companies were only given 3 days to respond; the process was completed in about two weeks. The complaint also claims that the justification of 'unique capabilities' cited by ICE has been removed in the FAR revisions. These are all allegations made by Chainalysis, and no ruling has been made yet. TRM Labs has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
