[BIP-110 Minority Chain Stalled, Developers Discuss Changing PoW Algorithm] According to a report by (Bitcoin.com), the BIP-110 minority chain has been stalled due to insufficient hash power since its fork on August 8. The chain inherited Bitcoin's mining difficulty of 127.48 trillion but has only attracted a minimal amount of SHA-256d hash power. BIP-110 author Dathon Ohm and Bitcoin Knots maintainer Luke Dashjr discussed in the Discord strategic channel the possibility of changing the PoW algorithm to reduce dependency on miners. Candidate algorithms include RandomX, BLAKE3, Scrypt, Autolykos v2, among others. Currently, no PoW change proposal has been officially activated, and the minority chain remains in a stalled state. Additionally, developer Murch has proposed via the mailing list to remove Luke Dashjr from the BIP editor list, which Luke Dashjr has denied.
