Feeling down today. Still woke up at 8 AM and saw SK in the Korean stock market dropping. It wasn’t much at first, only about 0.5%, but SKHYUSDT had already dropped over 1%. My judgment at the time was that SK would most likely keep falling, but there was a chance it might rebound a bit before dropping again. SKHYUSDT was around $142 then, so I placed an order at $144 and went back to sleep.
Woke up after 11 AM and found that the $144 order didn’t get filled. By then, SK had already dropped 4%, and I felt like another circuit breaker might be coming. So I directly opened a short position at $141 and headed out to run errands.
Around 3 PM, I checked and saw a 30% profit. Normally, at this point, I’d set a stop-loss (or take-profit) level to lock in at least 20% profit. But because I was in a meeting, I forgot to do it .
After the meeting, I checked again and found I was down over 20%. So frustrating. At that point, I had two options: either cut my losses immediately or wait for the evening session. After some hesitation, I placed another order at $145 and decided to wait for the evening. If the $145 order gets filled and I’m still losing, I’ll cut my losses immediately. But if there’s still a chance for further drops, I’ll hold on a bit longer.
Honestly, I didn’t need to gamble tonight. Locking in that 20% profit would’ve been enough to cover today’s meal expenses. But because of one careless mistake, I’m now forced to bet on the evening session. The main issue is that I’ve been swamped with things today. It’s only now that I’ve finally opened my computer. And soon, I’ll have to head to the airport to pick up Chipmunk and bring him home. Then I’ll need to cook dinner for him. By the time I get back to my computer, it’ll probably be evening. Maybe I’ll write a bit at the airport. Feeling so stressed.
