Wu Blockchain reports, citing data from Cointelegraph and DefiLlama, that losses in the crypto industry due to hacks and vulnerabilities in July 2026 amounted to approximately $247.4 million. This marks the second-highest monthly total this year, following April's $644 million, and represents more than a twofold increase compared to June's roughly $75 million. The largest single incident in July was the Coldcard vulnerability. According to Galaxy Digital, at least 7,300 wallets suffered losses exceeding $100 million across three confirmed attack waves. If a suspected fourth wave is included, total losses could approach $130 million. DefiLlama estimates the losses from this incident at around $115 million. Other significant security incidents in July include losses of approximately $9 million from Bonzo Lend, $2.6 million from SecondFi, $24 million from AFX Protocol, and $7.5 million from the Verus Ethereum Bridge.
