[Sui Plans Mainnet Upgrade in Q1 2027 to Counter Quantum Threats] (According to Bitcoin.com) News reports, blockchain project Sui recently announced that it is advancing quantum protection measures, planning to introduce two native post-quantum signature schemes later this year. Native accounts will adopt the ML-DSA-65 scheme, while high-value asset smart contract vaults will use the SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s hash signature scheme, both approved by the U.S. NIST. The transition will be optional but seamless, allowing users to retain the same mnemonic phrases and deposit addresses, completing the upgrade through new derivation paths without mandatory migration or asset transfers. ML-DSA-65 accounts are expected to go live on the testnet by the end of the year, with full mainnet certification planned for deployment in Q1 2027; the quantum-secure vault is scheduled to launch on the mainnet by the end of 2026.
