Duan Yongping's Pop Mart holdings drop to 5.55%, official response denies voluntary reduction
Duan Yongping's stake in Pop Mart has decreased from 7.65% to 5.55%, but it wasn’t a voluntary sell-off. Pop Mart clarified that this was due to the fulfillment of an options contract, with shares delivered as agreed.
Analysts explained that this is part of Duan Yongping's 'options rental' strategy: holding the underlying stock while selling options to earn premiums. When the stock price hits the strike price, shares are passively delivered, which is considered a short-term trading behavior.
