On this day five years ago, the Ethereum mainnet completed the London upgrade, introducing the base fee burn mechanism with EIP-1559. This gas fee model is still in use today. Five years later, that fire is still burning. Here's to EIP-1559 and to everyone who keeps pushing innovation forward.
