Dydx didn’t succeed, which led many people to misjudge hype. The success or failure of a sector or project is honestly, truly hard to predict. Even if I had correctly predicted hype’s success back then, it would’ve been because hyperliquid was already gaining traction, and the data was right there to see. In this market, there’s really no need to predict. For a long time before hype’s airdrop, its data was already super impressive. Why didn’t anyone pay attention? Largely because the market wasn’t doing well at the time, and people were influenced by dydx’s failure. Even after hype’s airdrop, it hadn’t reached today’s heights yet. The most common doubt I heard was: “Isn’t this just dydx?” It’s easy to dispel doubts—just try it yourself, and you’ll come to a completely different conclusion. For any cyclical sector opportunity, the window for participation is actually pretty long. You need to set aside external opinions and past experiences, and just honestly use the product, engage with the community, and look at the objective product data. You’ll be surprised at how ignorant and lazy the masses can be, and you’ll be grateful that you didn’t let biases and preconceived notions blind you from spotting a big opportunity. That’s how big opportunities work—you don’t need to predict them in advance. When the product data starts to shine, just use it honestly, observe honestly, and even with a small amount of capital, you can seize your big opportunity.
