**[PlanB Speaks Out Against Bitcoin BIP-110: Fork Supporters Do Not Understand the Essence of Decentralization]** BlockBeats News, July 25: Renowned analyst PlanB has voiced opposition to the Bitcoin BIP-110 proposal: "I oppose the BIP-110 fork. In my view, the supporters of the fork fail to truly understand three key points. Bitcoin is a decentralized bearer asset; Bitcoin enthusiasts dislike spam more than they do; and why the previous BCH fork failed." BIP-110 is a temporary soft fork proposal that plans to introduce seven new consensus restrictions within an approximately one-year validity period. These include limiting the length of new script public keys, restricting certain push data and witness item sizes, disabling parts of the Taproot extension path, and more. The goal is to significantly reduce arbitrary non-payment data embedded in transactions, such as inscriptions and runes, thereby reducing node burden, suppressing spam data, and refocusing Bitcoin on its monetary use case. Currently, miner support for BIP-110 is only about 1%, far below the 55% threshold required for approval. Its chances of passing are slim, making it almost impossible for BIP-110 to become an official rule of the Bitcoin main chain. The final outcome will be revealed around August 7-8, when the mandatory signaling window opens. [Original Link]
