**[Jensen Huang's Latest Key Statement: The Chip Industry Will Not Face a Downturn in the Near Future, Scale Needs to Expand Five to Ten Times]** DeepTech TechFlow reports that on July 24, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang engaged in a broad and in-depth discussion with AXIOS co-founder Mike Allen regarding the current state of artificial intelligence. Huang stated that although the chip industry has historically experienced cyclical ups and downs, "this time is different." Even considering the highly cyclical fluctuations in the chip industry’s history (as shown in the chart), the current boom still has room for further development. When asked whether the industry is on the verge of a downturn, Huang responded: "No, it won't happen in the near future. This time is different because it is not driven by demand." Huang further explained that the current AI boom is not driven by consumer demand, which has traditionally been the primary driver of the industry. Instead, the current AI boom is industry-driven, signifying a fundamental shift in the core technologies of computing. He emphasized that a new layer of global infrastructure needs to be built. "We already have energy, the internet, roads, and railways. Now, we need to construct the intelligent layer of artificial intelligence, which is an additional layer of infrastructure built on top of these foundations. This layer of infrastructure relies on chips. I believe our semiconductor industry may need to grow five to ten times larger than it is now... The current industry scale is far too small. Everything is in extreme shortage, not because of cyclical issues or consumer demand, but due to fundamental, infrastructure-related factors. As a result, the entire industry is experiencing shortages. I think we must expand the scale of this industry several times over." (Jin10)
