[Foreign Media: South Korean Companies' Q1 Investment in the U.S. Reaches $10.2 Billion, Hitting a Five-Year High] Odaily Planet Daily News – Driven by profit growth from the AI boom and the impact of U.S. tariff policies, South Korean companies are experiencing the largest wave of U.S. investments and acquisitions in recent years. According to data from South Korea's Ministry of Finance, South Korean companies' actual foreign direct investment (FDI) in the U.S. more than doubled year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, reaching $10.2 billion, the highest in nearly five years. Benefiting from AI infrastructure, companies like Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are accelerating their presence in the U.S. AI industry chain. Samsung has participated in funding rounds for AI data center liquid cooling company ZutaCore and AI chip company Groq, while SK Hynix plans to invest $10 billion in U.S. innovation enterprises. Investment banking professionals believe that with Chinese buyers exiting the U.S. large-scale tech asset acquisition market, South Korean companies are entering a 'golden era' for U.S. acquisitions.
