According to Yonhap News, Mirae Asset Consulting, a non-financial subsidiary of South Korea's Mirae Asset Group, announced that it acquired 91.73% of shares in the Korean crypto exchange Korbit on July 22 and plans to purchase the remaining 5.42% of shares on July 24. Once the transaction is complete, its ownership stake will reach 97.15%. The total acquisition amount is approximately 141.367 billion KRW (around $102 million). Korbit stated that existing services will remain unchanged, and user assets and deposits will continue to be safeguarded separately from company assets in accordance with South Korea's Virtual Asset User Protection Act.
