[Japan Passes Revised Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, Incorporates Crypto Assets into Regulatory Framework]
According to a report by Nikkei, Japan's revised Financial Instruments and Exchange Act was passed in a plenary session of the House of Councillors on July 15, officially incorporating crypto assets into the financial instruments regulatory framework. The new law requires exchanges to pay a liability reserve. Saito Masahiko, Director of the Financial Services Agency's Market Division, stated that the FSA does not endorse or make any recommendations regarding crypto asset trading.
