[SoftBank Launches GaranAI Platform to Enhance AI Capabilities Using News Content]
DeepTech TechFlow reports that on July 22, SoftBank Group announced on Wednesday that it will begin operating a new information platform called GaranAI. The platform will source article data from news agencies and publishers, process it into data usable by generative artificial intelligence. Content creators, including Daily News Agency, Sankei Shimbun, Kyodo News, and some local newspapers, will provide content to GaranAI and receive corresponding compensation. SoftBank will convert the content into a data format that is difficult to revert to its original form, further processing it into data more accessible for AI use, and then sell it to AI developers to help improve the accuracy of AI responses to user inquiries. SoftBank released a trial version of the platform on Wednesday and began accepting applications from AI developers. The operators plan to continuously improve the platform over the next six months and launch the official version in January or later next year. The company also plans to expand the platform's scope to accommodate copyrighted content from a broader range of fields. (Jin10)
