Gate Europe CEO Giovanni Cunti stated that some crypto companies with MiCA licenses may exit the European market in the future due to ongoing compliance costs and resource pressures. He believes MiCA has enhanced investor protection but also raised the barriers to entry for the industry, leading some projects to shift to jurisdictions with more relaxed regulatory requirements. Cunti noted that the European crypto market is shrinking from thousands of operators to just hundreds, but this also creates more opportunities for compliant institutions that remain in the market. According to the latest data from ESMA, the number of MiCA-registered crypto asset service providers (CASPs) has now increased to 294. (Cointelegraph)
