[Approximately $200 Million in Suspicious Transactions Flagged in Prediction Markets in the First Half of This Year]
According to Bloomberg Businessweek, as prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket become increasingly popular and scaled up, the phenomenon of trading based on insider information is surging. Bloomberg's analysis of approximately 34,000 suspicious transactions flagged by Polysights reveals that between January and June 2026, the total amount of flagged suspicious transactions was approximately $200 million, with geopolitical and war-related bets being the primary drivers. Bets related to Iran peaked in late February. Among the flagged transactions, 71% were funded through U.S.-regulated crypto exchanges. Profits from flagged suspicious transactions were highly concentrated, with the top 1% of profitable wallets capturing more than half of the profits, and 57% of these wallets were created within 24 hours prior to the transactions.
