[Coinbase CEO: Personal X Account Posts Do Not Constitute Investment Advice, Base Team Will Not Endorse Specific Tokens]
Foresight News reports that Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong responded on X to recent controversies surrounding his profile picture change and the level of support from the Base community. He stated that his personal X account is solely used to share content he finds interesting or amusing, and when posting, he may not be aware of whether the content is linked to a specific token or project. All posts do not constitute investment advice or endorsements, and users who view his account as an Alpha signal do so at their own risk.
Regarding the issue of "support" from the Base team, Armstrong clarified that many tokens cannot be listed on Coinbase due to compliance and regulatory reasons, and the Base team will not pump or endorse specific tokens. He outlined Base's methods of support: offline Base Batches events and builder subsidies, investments in quality projects through Coinbase Ventures and the Base Ecosystem Fund, and integrating promising Base DeFi protocols into Coinbase products to expand distribution. He emphasized that Base's goal is to build financial services infrastructure, encompassing tokenized stocks, lending protocols, stablecoin payments, and more.
