[Consensys Once Accidentally Outsourced Development Work to North Korea-Linked Individual, Access Lasted About a Month] According to a report by Cointelegraph, earlier this year, Consensys brought in a software developer through a 'reputable third-party service provider,' who was later found to have ties to North Korea. The developer, operating under the alias Tyler Knapp, had access to Consensys' systems for approximately one month. Consensys' General Counsel, Matt Corva, stated that the developer was not an employee of Consensys but collaborated in a consultant capacity. Upon discovering the threat, the company immediately terminated the developer's access and launched a comprehensive investigation, confirming that no assets or data were stolen, no malicious code was deployed, and user security was not compromised. Consensys announced that it will reevaluate its practices regarding outsourcing engineering and development work.
