[Bulk Carrier "Luni" Sinks in the Strait of Hormuz, Breaks in Two] Golden Finance reports that a video shows the bulk carrier "Luni" (IMO number 9070711) suffered a keel fracture near the Port of Abbas, ultimately breaking in two and sinking in the shallow seabed of the northern anchorage of the Strait of Hormuz. The "Luni," with a service life of 32 years, had long exceeded the normal operational lifespan of commercial vessels. Currently, there is no authoritative report on the sinking incident, but rumors suggest that it collided with another commercial vessel a few days ago, causing damage to the hull. The damage reportedly spread rapidly, culminating in the catastrophic accident. Additionally, the keel fracture could also be the result of a heavy torpedo attack or a rapid sinking assault. Both attack methods involve detonating a large explosive payload beneath the midsection of the hull, forcing the ship to heave upward and break apart. Although U.S. forces have been conducting intense operations in the Port of Abbas area, there have been no reports of the "Luni" being subjected to any kinetic attacks. (Jin10)
