Even if the story of Byte's stock market 'God' is true, it's just a tale of a degenerate gambler flipping last-day options. It has a little to do with knowledge, but not much. Pure luck for a gambling degenerate.
Why do last-day options have high returns?
Because they’re about to go to zero. If the price doesn’t skyrocket or crash within 1-2 days, they’re worthless.
Why do prices skyrocket or reverse in 1-2 days?
It’s all luck. 100% pure luck.
When is trading last-day options not about luck?
9/11 hits the towers, you’re on-site, and the moment of impact, you buy all the short-term put options on stocks. That’s not luck.
You get insider info that Futu and Tiger are getting penalized by the SEC tomorrow, and you load up on put options. That’s not luck, that’s pure skill.
Any last-day option is gambling. It’s no different from betting on triple dice in Macau for high odds!
Most of the time, people lose money on options because, yeah, the stock dropped or rose, but your option expired. If you want to buy long-term options, high-IV stocks have time value that’s ridiculously expensive.
Of course, 99% of readers probably don’t understand what I’m saying, but as long as you think it sounds impressive, that’s good enough.
