[NVIDIA Has Decided to Temporarily Abandon the Adoption of TSMC's COUPE Technology Solution] According to IrrationAlanalysis, sources reveal that NVIDIA has decided to temporarily abandon the adoption of TSMC's COUPE (Compact Universal Photonic Engine) technology solution due to TSMC's slow progress in advancing silicon nitride (SiN) technology and the underperformance of the development of 2D grating couplers. NVIDIA's previous 'Plan A' was based on TSMC's COUPE co-packaged optics (CPO) platform, utilizing 8-wavelength DWDM and approximately 50 to 64G NRZ modulation technology. However, the latest 'Plan B' has shifted to Tower Semiconductor's silicon photonics (SiPho) platform, adopting 16-wavelength DWDM and 200G/400G PAM4 modulation solutions.
