[Citrini Analyst: NVIDIA Has Decided to Temporarily Abandon TSMC's COUPE Technology Solution] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 12, Citrini analyst Jukan disclosed in a post on the X platform that NVIDIA has decided to temporarily abandon adopting TSMC's COUPE (Compact Universal Photonic Engine) technology solution. The reason lies in TSMC's slow progress in advancing silicon nitride (SiN) technology and the underwhelming development of 2D grating couplers. Reportedly, NVIDIA's previous 'Plan A' was based on TSMC's COUPE co-packaged optics platform, but the latest 'Plan B' has shifted to Tower Semiconductor's silicon photonics platform. Jukan also previously mentioned that the release date of NVIDIA's next-generation Rubin architecture products might be delayed once again.
