Noxa's launch function has been down for 14.5 hours now.
During the peak hype of the Robinhood chain, if you were a product manager, would you shut down without a proper plan—claim it's for traffic management—and then just resume operations?
Not to mention, solutions for this kind of issue like Pump/Four Meme/Virtuals and other platforms have been around for almost 3 years now.
The normal approach would be to first figure out a solution—downtime of a few minutes, at most half an hour to an hour—quickly roll out a hotfix and announce the launch of a new mechanism.
Everyone's just afraid of losing the hype to other platforms. After all, when it comes to launches, if you don't act during peak emotions, someone else will.
In my opinion, this is extremely unusual.
It reminds me of the internal theft incident on Pump's platform back in May '24.
It's highly likely that Noxa discovered a security issue related to the launch and shut down urgently to avoid panic, using traffic management as an excuse.
To be safe, I've revoked Noxa's authorization for now.
