Analysis: Arbitrage Opportunities for SK Hynix's US and Korean Stock Prices Heat Up

According to a report by Jinse Finance citing foreign media analysis, in large IPOs, it is common to lower the IPO price to attract investors. However, SK Hynix successfully completed its issuance at a price above par value. Analysts believe this is due to the global financial market's strong recognition of the company's leading position in the HBM and next-generation memory sectors, resulting in oversubscription.
The 40 trillion Korean won raised this time will be fully utilized to drive the company's global expansion in the field of artificial intelligence. A significant portion of the funds will be allocated to building an advanced packaging production facility in Indiana, USA, as well as for research and development of next-generation AI storage semiconductors.
Given that the price of dollar-denominated ADRs is higher than the price of ordinary shares in Korea under the backdrop of high exchange rates, it is expected that this will exert upward pressure on SK Hynix's stock price in the KOSPI market in the short term. Analysts also stated that as arbitrage demand between the US and Korean stock markets increases, the phenomenon of stock price synchronization may become more pronounced. (Jin10)
