[Kresus Launches Self-Custody Wallet Crypto Asset Inheritance Service]
According to FinanceFeeds, self-custody wallet company Kresus has launched the 'Kresus Inheritance' service, allowing users to set up inheritance plans for their crypto assets without sharing private keys. By paying an annual subscription fee of $99.99 within the wallet, users can pre-designate beneficiaries and set an account inactivity period. Once the period is triggered, beneficiaries gain access to the assets. Kresus does not custody user assets at any point, and the inheritance mechanism is based on features such as in-wallet MPC security and seed phrase-free backups. Kresus cited research indicating that approximately 55 million adults in the United States hold crypto assets, with 89% of investors concerned about the handling of their assets after death.
