[Iran Sends a Clear Signal to Mediators in the Conflict] According to a report by Jinse Finance, former U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia Joey Hood stated that U.S.-Iran diplomatic efforts have reached an impasse. Hood pointed out that Iran's attacks on merchant ships exhibit a certain pattern, with at least two of the targets being Qatari vessels or ships carrying Qatari crude oil and liquefied natural gas. He remarked: 'Many of these attacks are not truly aimed at the United States but rather at Gulf countries.' Hood noted that U.S. military bases in the Gulf region are primarily used for training and exercises, with relatively few personnel or equipment actually deployed at these locations, and even fewer in exposed positions. He said that these attacks by Iran are 'a signal to Gulf countries, especially to mediators: In this conflict, you’d better take our side now.' (Jin10)
