According to an investigation by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), law enforcement agencies in Wisconsin and New York have accused stablecoin issuer Circle of refusing to cooperate in freezing or returning funds to victims in certain fraud cases. The report states that Wisconsin prosecutors have filed a criminal complaint against Circle in one case, while New York prosecutors previously sent a letter to U.S. senators criticizing Circle for not actively cooperating with law enforcement in some cases. Circle responded by stating that the allegations lack merit, claiming the company does not have the technical capability to enforce court orders related to the cases and that the courts in question have no jurisdiction over it. Circle also emphasized that it only freezes assets in accordance with legal procedures to protect user rights. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/news-64297
