[Officially Included in the Nasdaq-100 Index, SpaceX Drops Over 5%] Golden Finance reports that on July 7, SpaceX (SPCX.US) fell over 5%, closing at $159.3. According to the news, SpaceX was officially included in the Nasdaq-100 Index today, becoming the first company in the index with a core focus on aerospace business. JPMorgan estimates its weight in the index to be approximately 1.3%. Freedom Capital Markets' Head of Technical Research, Paul Meeks, believes that this inclusion's 'actual significance may be lower than market expectations,' as the related rules are transparent and the market has already priced in part of the impact in advance. Additionally, it is worth noting that a lawsuit has requested the court to order SpaceX to shut down the gas turbines powering its Colossus 2 data center, citing operations without the required permits. This lawsuit could jeopardize parts of SpaceX's $45 billion contract with Anthropic. A lower court is likely to order the turbines to be shut down until the necessary permits are obtained, though it may also grant SpaceX some time to comply with the regulations.
