Wu Blockchain has learned that on-chain analyst Specter posted that after conducting a preliminary investigation into the malicious governance proposal attack on BonkDAO (approximately $20 million worth of BONK stolen), it was discovered that the attacker allegedly created the malicious proposal on June 30. Between July 4 and 5, the attacker acquired approximately $4 million in voting power through exchanges and Marginfi lending to meet the 1% voting threshold of BONK's circulating supply.
Specter stated that on July 6, the attacker used two wallets to cast approval votes, with the main address holding approximately 88.22 trillion BONK, accounting for about 99.87% of the voting power. The two voting addresses were later found to have on-chain links via the same deposit address at the exchange.
Specter further noted that historical addresses involved were previously linked to @crypto_notte’s public wallet and DAO test proposals initiated by RealmsDAO founder DeanMachine.
