On July 7, McKinsey research revealed that in 2023, only 30% of employees used AI to assist their work, but by 2025, this proportion had surged to 76%. AI technology is reshaping workplace dynamics, yet workers' demands remain unchanged. 1. Workplace Newcomers: Positions shrink, mobility slows, but demands remain. As AI gradually takes over a large number of routine tasks, entry-level positions are significantly impacted. *McKinsey's 2025 New Era Workplace Survey* shows that 51% of organizations reported that generative AI has reduced their demand for entry-level roles. Additionally, the survey found that between 2023 and 2025, the willingness of employees with short tenure to leave their jobs has noticeably declined: among employees with less than one year of tenure, their willingness to leave dropped from 37% in 2023 to 32% in 2025, approaching the level of employees with more than three years of tenure (30%). 2. AI Proficiency: The higher the sense of belonging, the stronger the inclination to leave. The survey shows that AI creators and heavy AI users have the highest sense of belonging to their roles. However, paradoxically, this group also has the strongest intention to leave—AI creators and heavy AI users are 7% more likely to leave within the next 3-6 months compared to light AI users, and 10% more likely compared to employees who do not use AI. 3. Workers' Inner Calculations: Priorities shift, but demands remain. The survey indicates that the main reasons employees are willing to stay include: meaningful work, flexible work locations, opportunities for career development and advancement, trust and support from colleagues, decent pay, and sufficient recognition.
