The weight of videos on X is amplified, so making videos is definitely the biggest traffic gateway right now.
No more slacking off—time to get those videos rolling. Before I came to Singapore, I was consistently sharing videos on YouTube. Later, I felt the content was becoming too similar to what’s on X, so I started doing interviews instead.
I did interviews for about half a year, but as more and more people entered this space, I began thinking about doing multi-person interactions. For example, I tried a few episodes of “What’s for Dinner Tonight,” but those kinds of topics are heavily influenced by timing and relevance.
After that, I tried shooting two or three short skits with a few girls. The results were decent, but with more people involved, progress slowed down significantly, and in the end, it just fizzled out.
Actually, I started out making videos. Back then, I worked at the sports channel of Tianjin TV, and I produced China’s first satellite-broadcast online gaming show. So I’ve always had a strong passion for video content. Recently, I invested in an MCN in Vietnam and am planning to invest in one in Taiwan as well.
But I still haven’t found my groove for making videos again. Thinking back, what I enjoy most is doing interviews. For instance, the interview I did with Can @GoLadsCS was something I was really proud of. We basically broke down the process of cryptocurrency exchanges going public on the U.S. stock market and confirmed that platform tokens and stocks for crypto exchanges can be issued simultaneously.
I really enjoy this type of interview—not to highlight how great one person is, but to discuss areas of the industry that might be misunderstood. Next week, I’m heading to Tokyo for Web X. Let’s see if there’s a chance to do some interesting interviews there.
