The take-profit order I set before bed yesterday only triggered at the lowest level, didn’t even hit 170, and the market funds started fleeing before the passive buy orders kicked in after the U.S. stock market closed. The stock price even dropped to 155 at one point, which shows that the hot money playing SPCX in the market exceeds the billions of dollars in passive buying
Woke up this morning and cleared the remaining long positions. The earlier event alpha has already been realized, so I opened a grid short order to prepare for the next 3 months of token unlocking.
But there’s one thing to note about the accelerated unlocking clause:
August 6 earnings report + first 20% unlock. Also, if the stock price exceeds the IPO price by more than 30% (around 175.5) for 5 out of 10 trading days, an additional 10% will unlock faster.
So actually, Musk has an incentive to hype it up a bit. If there are too many shorts right now, a short squeeze would be pretty sweet. That’s why I set a stop-loss for the grid and placed a high-level trigger for re-entry.
Looking back, this passive buying-driven operation was relatively successful. Although I didn’t fully capitalize on it (the expectation was a spike to 200), it basically met my earlier expectations. I’d give myself an 80/100 for this one.
