[Katalyst Launches Robotic Spacecraft to Rescue Aging Satellite, Showcasing New Orbital Capture Technology]
According to Golden Finance, on July 3, NASA and Arizona-based startup Katalyst launched a robotic spacecraft over the Pacific Ocean on Thursday. Its mission is to rescue an aging NASA observation satellite while demonstrating new orbital capture technology. The half-ton spacecraft, named LINK, was specifically built to save the $500 million Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory. It will capture the damaged satellite and move it into a higher, more stable orbit, potentially extending its operational lifespan by several years. (Jin10)
