[UK's Request to Participate in Relevant Meetings Post-Brexit Sparks EU Discontent]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, on July 3, the UK, after Brexit, submitted a request to join committees related to agricultural and food standards, carbon markets, and electricity markets. The European Commission emphasized that under the current bilateral arrangements, the UK does not have the right to participate in these meetings but may consider allowing UK officials to attend certain expert-level meetings and express their opinions. This disagreement is just one of many challenges in the process of rebuilding UK-EU relations, as both sides have yet to finalize agreements in areas such as defense procurement and study abroad programs.
